It is difficult to be sure about the cause of your son's sore tummy without being able to see him. From your description he may well have an illness called' mesenteric adenitis'. This illness is usually associated with tonsillitis but not always. The pain is caused by lymph glands in the abdomen which become enlarged for a while due to infection. It would be best to take your son to be seen by a doctor. Mention the possibility of him having mesenteric adenitis.
