Still on Formular milk

Hi Doctor,

My baby girl is 28 months old and she still feeds on her bottle. She does not eat much and only want her formular milk, all the time.

How do I wean her from her bottle? Is it normal that she still drinks formular milk (NAN3), if not what can I feed her, she is a very fussy eater?

Your daughter is well over the age when she should be on milk only. Fortunately NAN 3 is fortified with iron or she would have developed an iron deficiency by now.Your daughter is also old enough to feed hereself. She should join the family at the taable for all meals. Give her a spoon to feed herself. Put her food in front of her and do not watch her while she eats. If she leaves any food on her plate do not say anything. She will slowly begin to eat more and more. Replace her bottle with a cup or mug. She only needs 2 cups of milk every day now. Give her other fluids as well such as water, rooibos and dilute fruit juice. She will benefit by being on a growth milk such as Parmalat First Growth milk.
