Still a problem

Dear Doc

I wrote to you on sunday -post 521 to ask about my son''s blocked nose. I have been given him the mucospect and sterimar as suggested. He still has copious, thick green nasal discharge and his one nostril looks very swollen and red inside. This morning his gums at the top was swollen and very painful - especially the little skin that connects the top lip to the gum. It looked like he had a little sausage under his top lip.

He does not have a fever. He is fine other than just the bothersome nose and now painful gum. I dont know what to do to help him anymore. can you please help?

It is possible that your son has infected adenoids. I am not sure about the swelling of his gums as this may be due to a herpes infection. It would be best to take him to be seen by his doctor especially with the weekend coming up.
