Q.

Starting Solids

Hi

My daughter turned 5 months on Saturday- weighs 7,5kg and is about 70cm. She is only exclusively breasfed. I planned to start solids only at 6 months as my other kids have allergies. Is it ok that she is only breastfed for another month or should I start solids? Should I also gve her extra water?

Thanks

Your baby's length and weight are both above average for her age. She seems to be thriving and can certainly start on solids at 6 months which is recommended for babies coming from allergic families. She does not need water unless the weather is very hot where you live.
