Q.

Starting solids

I' ve just started my almost 4 mnth son on solids. He' s a big boy and I' m also exclusively breastfeeding. He seems to handle the rice cereal well. I did check with my pead and he suggested that I start when he was 4 months. Just want to know, how long do I keep him on the rice cereal before intriducing veg? At the moment I just give him the rice cereal once a day and rest of the time he' s just on breastmilk. When do I increase rice cereal to twice a day?

You can give him the rice cereal twice a day already and in about 4 weeks start him on the vegetables or apple.

Hi...I started my son on solids when he was 3 and half months. He was very good defeloped at that time. He didn' t like the rice cereals so I started mixing in purity with the cereal. Now he only eats home cooked veggies and fruit. He has been eating veggies from 4 months. I suggest mixing it with the cereal first to see if he likes the flavours.

I feed mine cereal in the morning and then milk late morning and lunch is usually veggies and a fruit puree and then another bottle. Late afternoon before bathtime it is a bit of cereal or veggies again and then bottle after bath.

Enjoy...feeding time gets so much more exiting now.
