Q.

spots and fever

My 5yr old son has a few random red spots over his body and a temp 0f 38. GP says its not measles, so what is it?

Without being able to see your son it is difficult to tell you what this rash is due to.I presume that your son was immunised against measles and german measles so these illnesses are unlikely.He is probably too old to have Roseola.Was he perhaps bitten by a tick recently? If not then he has a fever and the rash has appeared so it is probable that he has some viral illness which has not given any other symptoms.
