Q.

Speech problem

My 6yrs old Son speech is not clear and most of the time if he struggles to express himself he willcommunicateby actions.Should i be worried or consult a Speech therapist to find out more about his condition. Majority of our family members including his father are convinced that he is a late talker and was confused by many langauges that we use from an early age.He attended a Afrikaans creche from the age of 1 until 5 and currently he is attending an english school. What his teachers are saying there is nothing to worry about as he is learning a new langauge and will adapte.

Am I worrying for nothing

Your son is well past the age where he can be regarded as a late talker. He should certainly see a speech therapist as soon as possible.
