Q.

Speech

Hi there
Please could you tell me what the average speech is for a 21 month old boy?

Should they be saying on average 10 words or 15 words? Should they be doing 2 word sentences etc?

Is it true that boys talk later than girls?

Thank you
P

It is usally said that a child of 21 months has a vocabulary of about 200 words. This tends to vary from child to child. It is also quite common for girls to be a bit ahead of boys in their speech development. At 21 months children usually can use 2 word sentences which grows to 3 words at 2 years.
