Q.

Soya milk versus Nan Lactose free

Hi doc

Thank you for your previous response to post 1629, just to make sure.

You are saying the fact that my son is still constipated and is still windy has got to do with his Milk and that if i change it to isomil no 2 he should not be constipated on this milk.

So what do i do if i change the milk and he is still constipated on isomil what then.

Your son may become constipated or remain constipated on the soya, but he is unlikely to be windy. If he remains constipated on the soya please write and tell me and I will advise you as to the next step.

Hi,

I' m on Bankmed Plus. They will cover it from my insured benefit (chronic medication).

But I' m only sending the motivation letter from the doctor this afternoon and will wait for approval.

I don' t know where you stay, but Prof.Robin Green is excellent. He' s at Pretoria academic hospital (steve biko). He does allergy tests for babies.

Unfortunately this is a state hospital, so you would have to wait long to be helped but it' s worth it.

Hi,

I have been having the same problems as you!

I took my girl for skin allergy tests last week but didn' t show anything. She has been on Isomil (very constipated!) and now Nan LF (still very windy and constipated sometimes). Seems like she has an intolerance for everything (lactose, soya, gluten etc.)

Prof. Green suggested that I put her on Neocate milk. This milk is extremely expensive (R570 for small tin), but the medical aid pays for it if a doctor writes a motivation.

I will be putting her on that in about 5 days (waiting for approval for med.aid). Maybe you should find out about this milk??? Hope it works for me!

oh i forgot to say, the last time i tried him on soya milk he refused to drink it because it tasted so bad and he went on a milk strike.

How do i get him to take it now and how long should i persist for as it really doesnt taste that great.
