Sores on vagina

Hi Doc,

My 6.5 month old has red patches on the lips of her vagina. The vagina also seems slightly swollen. Could this be nappy rash?? i have been applying nappy rash cream on it but it doensnt seem to be going away. Please advice

The most likely cause is a nappy rash. It often helps to change the brand of her nappies as a start. Then apply a nappy cream such as Sudacreme with nappy changes until the rash clears.

My LO use to get it all the time. But hers was caused by a type of fungus. Her pead precribed the following:

Antipeol, Calendula Bum Cream and Canesten. You mix them all together and it makes an excellent bum cream for when the sores first appear.

Good Luck
