This sounds like a virus infection of your baby's mouth which is called herpes stomatitis. As your baby is refusing to feed he may well become dehydrated. He needs to be seen at an emergency after hours paediatric clinic.

About 2 years ago my son had stomatitis and it is HORRIBLE. Nothing helps, and no doc or pharmacist seems to have any fresh ideas. This is what I came up with, and it worked the best for the the longest time period after applied: mix a dollop of Dynexan with a teaspoolful of Mucaine. Mix it well. Ask you son to keep it in his mouth as long as possible before swallowing. Best of luck! oh, and a tip - use a straw for everthing that can be drunk - invest in Pediasure if he doesn''t want to eat at all.
