Dear doc
my son is 5yrs and suffers from sores in and around the mouth and on the head. the sores start like round things, develops a rash and lated becomes watery and septic. i took him to a doc who prescribed medication to put on the sores and andolex to guggle. it is about two wks now and these has not helped thus far. the doctor said that it' s a viral infection. please help.

This sounds like a skin infection called impetigo which is caused by a bacteria called strep.Impetigo is easily treated with an antibiotic as well as applying Bactroban oitment to the sores. Please ask another doctor to see your son.

he also has a continuous fever for most of the day and night.
