Sore Throat - 5 month old

My baby has developed a cough and sore throat. No runny nose or fever as yet. He is taking Bisolvin Linctus for the cough.
He does not want to drink or eat because of the sore throat. The antibiotic that the Paed has prescribed does not have a pleasant taste and the baby refluxes all of it up and gags at the first taste of it. Is it possible to get an injection for the treatment of the sore throat or is there perhaps throat spray for 5 month olds?

It is very unusual for babies of this age to develop a sore throat. It is possible that your baby has a virus infection causing ulcers in his mouth which is why he won't eat. It would be best to take him back to his paediatrician and to inform him of the problems you have had trying to give the antibiotic [which will not help for a virus illness anyway]
He should have another look at your baby so that you know exactly what the diagnosis is and also make sure that he is not becoming dehydrated because he is not drinking.
