Q.

Sore inside eyelid

Hi doc. My son who is 3 had sand kicked into his eyes yesterday at school. Subsequently he has huge dark circles under his eyes and it looks very swollen. The teacher did flush out his eyes and I used some brolene in his eyes last night and this morning. However, when I was checking his eye this mornng, I noticed that he had what looked like a small sore inside his eye - almost like an ulcer. Apart from the dark circle, he' s not rubbing his eyes etc. Should I be worried or is it something that will clear on its own.
I think that maybe with the flushing and trying to clear his eyes yesterday, the teachers might have caused a bit of damage to the inside of his eyelid.

It is important to be sure that the sand and the flushing of his eyes has not resulted in an ulcer especially one involving the cornea. If you are still concerned about your son he needs to be seen by an eye specialist.
