Q.

Sore eye

Dear Doc

My son was treated for blocked tear ducts when he was about 3 months old, and havent had problems since. He is now 20months old and since yesterday the left eye is teary, smaller than the other one and a yellow, greenish substance coming out. It looks sore but he is not feverish or anything. I' ve just been wiping it with clean warm cotton wool.

What do you think this is, must I take him to my GP or an eye specialist or can I just get something from the pharmacy?

Thanks Doc

This sounds like an eye infection. Treat the affected eye with chloramphenicol eye ointment which you can get from your pharmacy.
