Sore bladder?

Dear Doc

Last week Thursday, my 4 year old had a urine accident at school (very unusual for him) and this weekend he kept saying his bladder is sore. I looked at his penis, there is no redness at all and asked him to show me where it is sore and he very defin patted the top of his pubic bone and said his bladder is sore. He had two more small accidents. Today he had another accident at school. I took him to the pharmacy for a urine check, and the sister checked with a dipstick
9he weed in a cup she gave me). She said there is no blood, no protein and no infection. He does not have a fever, and is eating normally.

What else apart from an infection could cause bladder pain in a boy? Do you think he just waited to long to go wee and therefor had a accident and the pain is from an overfull bladder?

As you correctly say here this is an unusual complaint for a boy and he is very specific about the pain he is having. He is specific enough about this complaint to make it necessary to ask your doctor or paediatrician to see him. He may need an ultrasound examination of his lower abdomen to see if there is any reason for concern. He does not appear to have a bladder infection.
