son''s foreskin tight

My son is 3.5 years old. He was born with a very tight foreskin. The GP recommended that we wait until he is 4/5 before we take action. However, the foreskin is now so tight it only has space for urine to pass through. I have tried when bathing him to wash and make him pull back but it is now very tight (since he was a baby). He is complaining that it is painful every now and again. I did not want to be the one to make the decision to remove it. What would you recommend?

Your son is having definite problems due to his tight foreskin. It is certainly necessary to do something about this now. He should be seen by a paediatric urologist.

Get your son circumcised. If you dont, his foreskin will stunt the growth of his glans (head of penis) and it will be very painful if the doctor has to forcibly stretch it. He will end up with a lot of tear scars that may be there for life, leaving him with a bloody penis every time it gets erect. NOT GOOD. Just get it done ASAP. The younger the better, the better the result, the quicker it heals and less pain for him. Good luck!
