This is a very common problem called night terrors.Sometimes the trigger for this is a problem at school such as being bullied there. Try and find out if he is happy at his school. You need to reassure your son when he comes running to your room at night. Lead him back to his room and kiss him goodnight, reassuring him that all is well. Leave a nightlight on in his bedroom.This stage should pass over quite soon provided that there is not an ongoing problem at his school or anywhere else that is upsetting him.
