Hi, my girl is now just over 6 and half months and i started her on maize cereal cerelac and some fruits like pear en prune due to her constipation. She loves eating the fruits and also her favourite the maize cereal.

The problem is in the evening when I try to introduce some veg, i have tried butternut and sweet potato but she refuses to eat it I have tried everything, only adding a little bit of fruit helps.

Should I leave the veg for now? and just give more cereal in the evenings? I tried a little mash and she seemed to like that.

how long should i stick to one fruit / veg before introducing another?

she is prone to constipation so that also plays on my mind.

she seemed to do great with the prune, cereal and some pear in between with her 150ml bottles of milk 5 times a day.

The average weight for a baby girl of 6 and a half months is 7.5kg. You can certainly give your baby the extra cereal in the evening now. It takes some babies a bit longer to start liking to eat vegetables, but it is worthwhile trying the butternut and sweet potato again. She does like her fruit and that is important for her with her constipation. You will get good advice about when to introduce the various foods for your baby on this website:
