Snoring

Morning Prof.

My baby boy is 1yr old &  he sleeps well but sometimes he snores. Is it normal for his age to snore &  what can be the cause of it &  what can I do to help him if there''s a need to.

This is a good and important question. You are correct, it is not usual for children of this age to snore. When they do it means that they have a very blocked nose and this can lead to a worrying situation where children may actually stop breathing for a few seconds at a time. This is called 'sleep apnoea'. The usual cause at this age is due to enlarged adenoids. It is important to take your son to be seen by an ENT specialist.
