Q.

Smelly urine

My 5 months(turning 6 on 23 sept) son has this smelly urine, he is on Vi-daylin and drinks 125 ml of milk formula during the day and refuses to drink more but i breastfeed him only in the afternoon by 5 pm cause i' m a working mom.He is has started solids, cream of maize in the morning and purity by day.Can i feed him home cooked potatoes, gemsquah and butternut or even water at this age.Please help.

Your baby is not taking enough milk every day and his urine is becoming very concentrated, This is causing the smell. At his age milk is his primary source of nutrition. He needs to be eating less in the way of solids and needs his breastmilk intake to be increased.
