Q.

Smelly ear

Hi

My son is 4 yrs old. I did notice a build up of very dry and hard wax in his ears a feww weeks ago. I used some ceremol but it did not loosen the wax. He has been scartching his ears so mucg these pass two weeks. I then noticed the one ear' s wax has become soft but there is a bad smell to it.

He has nver had any ear infections and has not been sick for the the past two months now. What could be wrong?

It is possible that your son has a discharging ear. He must be examined by a doctor. Do not put Cerumol in his ears until he has been seen by a doctor.
