Q.

Small growth

My daughter was about 1 year old when I noticed something like a small growth on her anus when ever I changed diapers, I did not take much notice of it. Now that she is 3 it seems as if it has grown some what. Could u advice me .... is it some thing to worry about ...... should I have it checked by her paediatrician. Could this also be of her being constipated at times.

Many thanks
Concerned mom.

Paediatrician

It is difficult to be certain about the cause of this growth. It could be part of the rectum protruding through the anus, a condition known as prolapse. This is more common in constipated children. It would be best to take your daughter to be seen by her paediatrician
