Small blisters on daughters tong

Morning Dr
Could you possible assist? My daughter has small blisters on the side and on top of her tong. She is unable to eat at this stage. Her throat is not affected, but some areas are red. She is almost 7. Please could you assist by advising what I can do, or should I take her to the GP. Thank you

These blisters sound like a condition called herpes stomatitis although your daughter is a bit old for this.Another possibility is a condition called aphthous ulcers of which the cause is unknown. As she does not want to eat the ulcers must be painful. Apply Teejel at least twice daily to the ulcers. If she is not any better after 2 days she should be seen by a doctor.
