Q.

Sleeping with mouth open

Hi
My son is four and a half months old and sleeps with his mouth open. Is this a problem?
My husband does the same and has difficulty breathing just thru his nose.

Yes, in fact this is a problem. Babies have to breathe through their noses. If your baby is sleeping with his mouth open it means that he has a blocked nose. Try Salex nose drops, using one drop in each nostril twice aday for 10 days. If this does not help after 10 days please consult your paediatrician who may want your baby to see an ENT specialist.Your baby son may have enlarged adenoids causing this problem.
