Q.

Sleeping Problem

My son(4 yrs old) has a sleeping problem, when he is sleeping he snores badly and at the very same time he seems to be loosing his breath and sometimes he has a runny nose in his sleep. We' ve consulted a lot of doctors but they didn' t help-the last one said he has adenoids, which needed an operation. So I just wanted to find out if there is no other alternative treatment?

Your son has a very dangerous condition called 'sleep apnoea' which is due to severe nasal obstruction! In young children this is almost always due to enlarged adenoids. Your son must be see by an ENT surgeon ASAP and must have his adenoids removed! Do not delay any longer.
