Q.

sleeping patterns

i have a 14mnth old who doesnt really have an appetite, but eats when he wants to. he drinks about 5 - 200ml Infacare3 bottles in a 24hr day, he does get food in thats if he''s in the mood. but my trouble is durign the night, he falls asleep with his bottle and wakes up about 3times during the night for a feed. on some nights he just wants to bottle to sooth himself then he''s back to sleep, but doesnt really drink... on other night he empties both 200ml bottles and all before 6am. what can i do to make him drink less during the night or even sleep through, or should i just let him be?

There does not appear to be any problem with the amount of milk that your son drinks per day. It may be that he feels full enough during the day not to want to eat any solid food.Always offer him his food before you give him his bottle. If he does not eat before going to sleep he will get hungry during the night.Although he is a bit 'old' now you could try giving him the Novalac SD formula as his last feed in the evening before bedtime. This feed is more slowly digested and often helps in this situation. You should only give him the Novalac SD formula for this one feed and possibly once again if he does wake during the night. This should help to reduce his night wakening for feeds.
