Sleeping Baby

My baby goes to sleep at 21:00 and wakes up at 0:00 or sometimes 2:00 screaming and trying to get up. No amount of soothing can get her to go back to sleep without actually waking up. She sleeps approx. 1hour twice during the day. When she wakes up during the night she very agitated and screams as if she has tummy cramps or something? How can we change her sleeping habit? Or is it just a habit? Thanks.

You do not mention your baby's age and whether this is a new problem or not. It is possible that your baby has a reflux problem and that she develops discomfort due to stomach acid refluxing back up from her stomach into her lower oesophagus. It would be best to ask your paediatrician to see your baby.

breastfeeding a baby back to sleep often helps in situations like this.
