Q.

Sleeping

Dear Paediatrician thank you kindly for all your invaluable advice.
I have a 7 month old girl and from the time she was born would have 45 minute sleeps if lucky. Now she she sleeps for 15 minutes every 3 hrs she use to have a problem breaking wind but it is getting better after trying various methods. She also wakes up frequently at night. I worry that without enough sleep she''s isn''t going to grow mentally. Physically she''s good, eats well and weighs 8.9kg.
Thanks a million.

You are welcome.Your baby is doing well with her weight gain but is definitely not getting enough sleep. She needs about 2 to 3 hours during the day and 12 hours during the night.Something is keeping her awake. As she has never slept well it is not teething. The most likely reason is a problem with reflux in spite of her good weight. The story you give here is strongly suggestive of this diagnosis.Reflux causes a lot of discomfort for babies. It is important for your baby to be seen by a paediatrician.

I have read the archives and took the advice of Novalac SD sadly it didn''t work.
I dont think she is hungry she eats well and drinks 120ml of Novalac 6 times a day. The reason i dont give her more is because she rarely drinks more and when she does she usually spits up We also tried the Novalac acid reflux.

Thanks
