Sleep problems in 2yr old

My 2 and a half year old son, Luke has been a poor sleeper since birth. We were advised early on by our paediatrician that we should give him Isomil. Obviously now he is off formula but now consumes vast quantities of longlife milk especially before bed. He falls asleep without hassle but crys frequently in his sleep possibly 6 -7 times a night which then wake him up. During the day he is active and content. We have a happy home but he does suffer from a little bit of separation anxienty since mom went back to work. His sleeping has always been a problem - could it be the dairy?

yyes your son is definitely having too much milk. At the most he should be having about 2 cups of milk per day now and this milk should be the regular full cream milk. Often drinking too much milk at this age leads to iron deficiency anaemia. It would be a good idea to ask your doctor to make sure that your son is not anaemic.
