Q.

Sleep

Hi Dr,
Hope you had a fab weekend.
Dr, my daughter is 21 months old and at creche had been " visiting"  the Potty class for a week (about four tots go and play there for about a month before they are moved to get used to the class first) when on Monday evenining last week she politely came into the kitchen carrying her potty which looks like a toilet and said pee pee. I was quite taken a back and put her on it - she weed and did the same the next moring and evening when she gets home. She is now the champ in her class and Potty class as she is doing so well but i think all this is exciting her terribly because she used to be asleep by 08:15 and since all this she is still rolling around and standing up and singing and laughing in her cot at 21h00! She still sleeps in our room in her cot and i sit with her till she goes to sleep. Do you think it is just all the excitement that is keeping her awake and not wanting to go to sleep at night or what do you think we should to?

The main thing is that your daughter is very happy and the only problem is that being the 'potty champion' seems to have caused her to be rather excited. She is enjoying the extra attention from you especially as you sit with her until she goes to sleep. Perhaps this is the time for her to move to her own room and you need to establish a regular sleep routine. Reading to her at bedtime will help.
