Q.

Sleep

Hi Doc, how much sleep is recommended for an 8y old child. My old will be taking 36m Concerta at 7am when school starts, but he does not fall asleep before 21h00 to 21h30 ( he goes to bed at 19h30). Is this enough for him?

Thank you

Your son needs about 10 hours of sleep now.The Concerta may be keeping him awake as this is one of the well recognised side effects. Speak to the doctor who precribed the Concerta about your son's sleeping problem.
