Q.

Skinny two year old

Hi

My son is almost two yrs od. He weighs 10.4kg and is 85cm tall.

Some meal he eats and others he wouldnt eat. He is alos very fond of snacking and genrally thirsty. he has just been weaned from the breast and doesnt drink any bottle. Somedays he would have 5-7 stools ( normal ones).

He is healthy and all we are just worried that he looks so skinny. Should it be any concern?

Your son's height is within the normal range for his age, but he is definitely underwweight. He appears to be well, but does pass an excessive number of stools on some days. He may have a problem with worms or an intestinal parasite such giardia which is common in this age group. Please ask your doctor to examine him.
