Skin rash

My 10month old has a rash on her legs-clusters of pimples that appear dry. I bath her with J& J bedtime bath and apply E45 cream thereafter but there is no improvement. What should i do?

It is very difficult to be sure about your baby's rash without being able to see her. From your description it is possible that she has a rash known as papular urticaria. This rash is usually due to insect bites, especially due to the sand flea. A single bite causes all the pimples to appear and these pimples can last for months at a time. You can apply calamine lotion to the bites which are usually very itchy. It will also help to give her a small dose of a safe antihistamine such as Allecet Syrup 2.5ml once daily for 10 to 14 days. Giving her a good multivitamin syrup that also contains Vitamin B1 will help as well. If you have animals in the house make sure that they do not carry fleas.

Thank you for the response. We have not exposed her to any insects that we know of- we live in a flat and do not have any pets. Should I take her to the doctor to have a look? Which multivitamin do you recommend? She is drinking S26 gold and eats cereal and Purity appropriate for her age.
