Good day dr.
My 7 month old baby boy battle with sinusitus. I took him to the paed. awhile ago and re him it will always come back because my child is in a daycare. I dont know what to use anymore, he was on flowmist, now the second bottle dont want to work. Chamiflor dont work, sterimar dont work and also saline dont work. The paed. said not to put him on the neb., but he have alot of phlem on his chest when his nose is running it is thick green. He have a definate sleep problem because he find it hard to breath, sometime it sounds if he stops breathing for a while. This is really worrying me because i dont find a cure, it actually feels this is getting bad by the day, this problem is more at night then during the day, i also use a heater to keep the air warm. Please give me advice i have googled this problem and still havent got an answer. Many thanks, Elize Minnie

Firstly babies of 7 months do not have any sinuses so your baby cannot have sinusitis as such. He almost certainly has enlarged adenoids which is causing his nose to be severely blocked. So much so that he is having a worrying problem which is called 'sleep apnoea'. The infected mucous from his adenoids is causing a post nasal drip and chest infections. Your baby must be seen by an ENT specialist ASAP. You must tell the ENT about his sleep apnoea problem and the severity of his nose blockage, also that no medicines seem to relieve his blocked nose.Let me know what the ENT decides.

dear elize, my son of 9 months has the same problem. what''s worse, the only thing that kept his nose open were nasal decongistents like illiadin or otrivin. i took him to an ENT specialist and he has no put him on a 6 month course of Budeflam Aqaunase nasal spray in the mornings and Texa Syrup (anti-histemine) 1.5ml in the evenings. This is also not really working.
I am also desperate. My son did not have enlarged adenoids
