Q.

Sinus

Hi there,

My 2.5 year old had a brain scan as he was having fits and it was picked up that he had blocked sinuses. The Paed. prescribed Aqueous nose spray, which we used and finished. We are now using Sterimar twice a day, but he still coughs at night and the mucous is still thick. He is at creche.

Is there not another medication that he can use? Should we do allergy testing on him and what does that involve?

Thank you for your time.

Your liitle son has an infection and does not appear to be allergic. The mucous is thick and is unlike the watery mucous found in nasal allergy. He also attends a creche where the likelihood of repeated infections is possible. It would be best to see an ENT specialist at this stage as your son would benefit most from a careful diagnosis and the correct treatment.
