HI Doctor,
i should have listened to you but i decided to try putting my baby back on Nan 1 (after being on Nan Lactose free for a week) at the advice of his paediatrician. It did' nt go well as he started to have loose, slimy, rice grain size and formed stools ( if that makes any sense )put him back on Lactose free still went out 3 times with no other symptoms just loose stools. Is it okay to put baby on a Soya based milk without testing for allergies, and if so how long would he have to be on it ? He is 4 months , so when i start solids at 6 months what would i start him on?

You can start your baby on a soya formulanow if you wish as this contains no lactose and is also suitable for babies who are allergic to cow's milk although not ideal. When starting him on solids at 6 months use a rice cereal. Avoid all milk based cereals.
