Q.

sick 6 week old baby

Hi

My baby turned 6 weeks old yesterday. My older kids started out with a cold-runny nose, sore throat and a bit of cough. Now my baby seems to have a runny nose too and a few coughs now and again. She is only breastfeeding but acting normal. I am still however, very worried if the cold gets worse. What can we do>

Your baby appears to have caught the cold that your other children brought home. Keep her nose open by using infant saline nose drops twice aday. If her nose is very blocked you can ask your pharmacist for a small nasal suction tube to clear her nostrils. If she finds it difficult to feed and has noisy whistling breathing she must be seen by a doctor.
