Hi Dr,

Why do toddlers get sick so often? I know part of the problem is that they are at creche but stay at home tots seem to also be getting more bonchiolitus etc...?
My little girl, 2 and half, viral wheezer was chesty again (although first time since December), on Seretide as chronic med, was taken to her paed who gave her Zithromax for the ear infection she also had. She seems better and she is still coughing but finished the three day course yesterday. Although she is finished her anti-biotics i kept her out of creche today and sent her to her Gramps to just let her get over her illness - she has been off since Thursday. Do you think this is necessary or can they go back to creche when they finished the anti-biotic or when they look better?

This situation is known as the 'creche syndrome'. With the onset of winter chest, throat and ear infections become more of a problem.Give your little girl a good immune booster such as Scotts emulsion or Creche Guard for the winter months.
