sick 2 week old baby?

Hi Doc
I have a two week old baby and a four year old son.My four year was diagnosed with pharyngitis and a bit of a blocked nose last week, however he has recovered but i seemed to have gotten his " flu"  as i was quite sick in bed yesterday and wasnt able to move but i did manage to breast feed my two week old son. Since two this morning my baby has been restless and whimpering in his sleep i am now worried that i have given him the flu, is it possible for him to catch the flu through my breast milk or could he be having cramps from the panado med syrup (sort of like the med lemon) that i took last night.? im not sure what to do as he is so young and alot of mothers told me that my breast milk is not meant to make him sick as it is meant to build his immune system. is this true? should i take him to my paedeatrician to get him checked out or is it just a phase?
Your help would be appreciated. Thank-you

Your baby may well have caught your virus but more likely is that he is reacting to the high caffeine dose in the Med Lemon or to the aspirin in this medicine which can pass into your breast milk. Do not take Med Lemon while breast feeding. If he does not improve once you have stopped the Med Lemon he may need to see your paediatrician.
