Q.

Shoes, Left in right

Dear doc, my son turned 5 yrs in January, he is a brilliant little boy, can write his name, knows all his shapes and colours, can do addition(maths) problems up to 10, can write numbers up to 20. He has only 1 problem, when he wears his shoes, he never puts them on the right way first time. Always has the right shoes on the left foot and vice versa. I have tried a few methods to help him but they are not working. What could be wrong &  how could I help him.

This is very common with little boys. You know that your son is very bright. Continue to help him to identify the correct shoe for his feet. Let him put his feet on a piece of paper and trace the outline of each foot on the paper. Then put his shoes on a piece of paper and again trace the outline of each shoe. Ask him which shoe will match which foot based on the drawings. Let him practice this until he gets it right.
