Separation Anxiety

Hello Professor - hope you had a lovely Easter!

Oh my daughter just would not let go of me this moring when i dropped her at creche. She is two and half and been there since 6 months. She normally takes a bit of time after holidays to re-adjust but as soon as we stopped outside this morning she started crying. She eventuallly had me, her teacher, her friend and friend''s mommy in tears. We were on holiday for 3 weeks then back a week and now for the Easter break so she has been on holiday basically from 15 March so it is a long time - in your opinion would this account for the horrible drama this morning?
I did phone at 9 o clock and they said she was fine, had eaten her breakfast nicely and was playing. My friend arrived approx. 10mins after i had left and she said Hannah wasnt crying and smiled at her daughter who went to sit next to her.
Sorry for the long story - i just need probably to re-assured or an honest opnion. Thanks a mill doctor

You have hit the nail on the head. Your daughter did show some separation anxiety today after her very long break from school-and you being together as a family for that time. She will soon settle down again and in any case it was reassuring for you to know that she soon settled down today once the 'drama' was over.
