Seizure...I think

Hi Doc.
My son aged 3yrs and 8 months was asleep last night and I heard him moaning. When I got to him his body was shaking (not vigourously) but definitely shaking and my first thought was that he was having a seizure of some sort. I opened his lips and saw that he was clenching his teeth. This has happened only once before when he was ill with a very high temperature. Though last night he was 100% ok, no fever...nothing. I turned him on his side and he was shaking for about 30 seconds or so and then stilled. He then woke up and told me that he needed to go to the loo. I am concerned and not sure what to do. Should I take him to a peadiatrician or neurologist soon? So far he has reached all his milestones and more, he is a very intelligent little boy and amazes me at times with his vocabulary and the things he does. He is always on the move. If he needs to see paediatrician or neurologist can you please recommend an excellent one to me in Pretoria. Your input is valuable, thank you.

Thank you.Seeing that your son did not have a fever with this possible seizure, it would be best to take him to see a paediatric neurologist. Dr Michael Lippert at the Unitas Hospital in Pretoria is a well known paediatric neurologist.
