Q.

Scarlet Fever

My 3 yr old has been diagnosed with Scarlet fever and on augmentin. I know this is a childhood disease but is the infection not contagious in another form to adults?

Scarlet fever is caused by a streptococcal infection and is highly infectious. Scarlet fever is rare in adults, but adults may get a tonsil infection or a skin infection.
