Salmonella is spread by poor hygiene especially through poor handwashing after using the toilet and then handling the baby.Salmonella infection can result in severe diarrhoea. It is very likely that the baby's mother is a salmonella carrier and her stools should be tested for salmonella. This little baby needs to be treated for her salmonella infection.
