Q.

Salmon

Dear Doc

My son is 14 months. He loves to eat smoked salmon - in fact he can''t get enough of it. I do understand that fish contains omega 3 which is good, but are there any side effects or bad things associated with eating smoked salmon regularly?

Thank you.

Smoked salmon is very rich in Omega3 so it is regarded as a very healthy. My only concern is that it may contain quite high levels of salt at times. Check the amount of salt on the label and if it is high you should reduce your son's intake of smoked salmon to two to three tmes a week.
