Q.

Runny Nose-funny smell(5year old)

Hi
My son is 5 years old. He has a a runny nose actually its been like this for a while now due to the fact he is in a creche.
What I have noticed from last night that the mucous from his nose has a bad smell and it is a bit bloody. I have been using Sterimar as well as Flusin.
Is this an infection? should I be concerned and take him to the doctors.
Thanx

This does seem to be an infection but the bad smell is worrying. Sometimes children push a bead or peanut up their nostrils and this leads to the infected mucous discharge which smells bad and there is often some bleeding. Your son should be seen by an ENT specialist.
