Q.

Runny nose

Hi

My son is 18 months old, he has had a runny, congested nose for about a week now, he has no fever although he is a bit crabby. Could this be because of teething (I think he is cutting his back bottom teeth) or could it be allergies. I have used salex spray as well as a nose spray but it continues to run.

What could it be?

Your little son was well until 1 week ago so this is something new. His runny nose is not due to teething and is unlikely to be due to an allergy. The most likley cause is a cold. He should get better soon but in the meantime continue using the safest treatment for him. Salex nose drops given twice day will help to clear his nose.
