Running tummy - rotarix

Hi Doc

My 7 month old daughter has a severe stomach bug - her tummy has been running several times a day for a few days. The paed says that she is far from dehydrating (she is still drinking - good thing!), and has prescribed probiotic drops. I am however still confused as to why she has this bug - afterall she did receive the full course of the rotarix vaccines?

This is why you need to know what the cause of your daughter's persistent diarrhoea is. In other words you need a proper diagnosis. Please ask your paediatrician what is causing your baby's illness. It need not even be an infection, your baby may be lactose intolerant or be allergic to milk.

hi there

i am not a dr but i have some advice that was given to me that might help you.

firstly get her reutri drops to help her stomach. It is like a interflora for them.

secondly Novalac has a formula in a green box, it is the only one in a green box and is for children with diariah
after like the third bottle you will notice a difference in her stools.
Once it has stopped the runny tummy go back to her normal milk

worked like a dream for my son
