Q.

Rotten tooth

My 18month old has black mark just above the gum of her lower right central incisor - it looks like a rotten tooth. What could be the reason for a decaying tooth at such an young age? Her molars have recently erupted.

She still sucks a pacifier and I' m still battling to get her to brush her teeth - she' s still very playful with the toothbrush.
How can I treat this?

This does sound like tooth decay. It may be caused by too much fruit juice in her diet. If you are concerned ask your dentist to see her.
